Beldar - Ready for adoption
BELDAR is a wonderful short-haired black NEUTERED adult. Poor Beldar arrived at the shelter as a stray and was in pretty bad shape––he was underweight, his coat was dirty, his eyes were runny, his ears were filthy with ear mites and were badly scratched because he was digging at them with his paws. One of his ears had already “cauliflowered” due to untreated mites. However, it was immediately obvious to everyone that this was a very special cat.
If there was a Kitty Sweetness Scale from 1-10, Beldar would be an 11. No matter what you did to treat his illness and wounds, he was so appreciative––he just purred and licked your hand to thank you. Even when he had to wear a cone for several weeks while his ears healed, he took it all in stride. Now he is ready to be adopted. His left ear is permanently crinkled and the outer ear will need to be periodically swabbed out with a Q-tip because he cannot clean it himself. That will not be a problem because Beldar has a calm, mellow personality and is super gentle––keeping his claws in at all times. He is also very adaptable––no matter what happens, he just goes with the flow.
Even though he is an adult and has been through so much, he sometimes acts “kitten-ish” and will entertain himself by playing with toys. Beldar gets along well with other cats, but we do not know if he likes dogs. He has so much love to give and would do well in almost any household that will give him the affection and attention he so deserves and will see his crinkled ear as a mark of distinction. Since Beldar is already NEUTERED, the waiting time for him to go home with you is minimal.
