Carmen - Ready for adoption

Carmen is … special.  She’s going to need exactly the right home, with people who are willing to offer her patience, love and the ability to be herself.  We know that home is out there for her.

Born in a feral colony, Carmen was bottle-raised from the age of about 12 days in a Calaveras Humane Society volunteer foster home.  While her brother, Jimmy Stewart, instantly morphed into a cuddly, purring lapcat, Carmen remained feisty and opinionated.

Carmen plays.  Oh, how she plays!  She loves toys, playing chase, empty boxes, you name it.  But while Carmen has come far enough in her socialization to allow someone to pet or hold her, she has only one human being she truly loves: our foster person’s mom.  Everyone else is just kind of “meh.”

Carmen will need time to bond with and grow to love her future owner.  She might become a snuggly lapcat; she might not.  But she will provide her family with hours of entertainment regardless.

Could you be that special someone our lovely little Carmen needs?
