Sister - Reservation available
Sister had a rough start — she came from a colony that had too many kitties and not enough litter boxes. Due to that, she contracted the ‘corona’ virus. She was six weeks old and very fragile. Her symptoms were severe diarrhea, and poor appetite. She was admitted to the vet and put on a support regimen of IV fluids, special food, probiotics and a lot of attention. After ten days, she was able to come back into her foster home and she has thrived.
Sister needs to be an ‘only’ kitty, as she continues to ‘shed’ the virus, i.e., it’s in her saliva and/or poop. She could infect another cat. Her prognosis for the future is very good. Corona stays in the body for life, just as chicken pox virus does in humans. It may never cause a problem. On the other hand, there is a slight chance it may morph into FIP, which is a bad disease.
She’s extremely cuddly, purrs if you just walk by her, and loves playing with feather toys. Her coloring is hard to see in photos, but she’s what’s known as a ‘torby’–tortoiseshell colors under tabby markings. Potential owners need to be aware of her disease, and monitor her habits for need of a vet visit.
