Giving Tuesday 2023

We are fundraising this year to purchase a desktop engraving machine, which will enable us to send every pet home wearing an ID tag with the adopter’s phone number and address. (We already provide a collar as part of the adoption.)

Too often we see posts about found animals that contain these three dreaded words: “Collar. No tags.”

We want to ensure that our adopted pets are able to be easily reunited with their families if they get lost. Yes, they’re microchipped, but a chip is only helpful if it’s scanned. A tag provides immediate information to the finder.

We will also provide a free or low-cost tag to local residents who can’t otherwise afford to have one made. The participants in our Pet Food Bank program will appreciate this!

Any additional funds raised will help support the animals and our other community programs and services.

The Calaveras Humane Society (CHS) is a 501(c)(3) organization (Tax ID # 94-2581703). All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

What else does our organization do? We are here to help our community.

    • Our spay/neuter vouchers help low-income residents pay for veterinary costs to have their pets fixed.
    • Our Pet Food Bank helps residents in need to feed and keep their beloved pets.
    • Our Free Pets for Veterans and Seniors For Seniors programs place loving pets with good families at little to no cost to adoptees.
    • The first-rate medical care we get for the pets in our care ensures they are happy and healthy when they are adopted.
