What a ride this topsy-turvy year has been! Your Calaveras Humane Society worked hard to remain open for our most critical services in spite of widespread COVID closures, because we knew our community was counting on us.
We held two critical drive-thru pet food bank events in April and May, distributing more than 2,000 pounds of free dog and cat food in two days to Calaveras pet owners. We’ve also seen enrollment in our non-emergency pet food bank soar to more than 150 low-income households receiving free food monthly for their animals.
As soon as we were allowed, we fully reopened our Angels Camp adoption center for business and have continued to take in dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens in need and place them into loving permanent homes. Our pets come from locals who cannot keep an animal, as well as from overcrowded government shelters in Calaveras, San Joaquin, and Tuolumne counties.
Contributions from caring friends like you have helped make the Calaveras Humane Society our area’s leading animal welfare organization. We are proud to offer so many desperately needed programs and services to our community, but we cannot do it without your support.
Your gift of $25, $50 or more will enable us to continue our lifesaving work on behalf of the pets and people of Calaveras. You can even set up a recurring monthly gift via our website.
As a reminder, we receive no tax dollars and rely solely on donations, grants, bequests, and income from our Arnold thrift store to fund all our programs and services.
The Calaveras Humane Society needs your help today. The animals are counting on you.
With gratitude,
Dee Dee Drake
