These little bitties were Thursday morning’s surprise arrival. (For the record, if your workplace doesn’t have Laundry Basket Surprises, you’re missing out.)
After being removed from an unsafe situation, they and their mama needed immediate housing. The wee ones appear to be about four weeks old, and mom is likely a dachshund/chihuahua mix, commonly known as a “chiweenie.”
The crew of nine (eight puppies — a VERY large litter — plus mama) received deworming and thorough exams, had a good nap, and then headed out to one of our foster homes Thursday afternoon.
Just this week, we were kinda sorta celebrating that we’re sliding past the peak of kitten season and things are slowly getting calmer around here. Famous last words. And while we’re on the subject, come adopt a kitten or two or ten, please and thank you.
The Laundry Basket Surprise gang will be in foster care for about four weeks, and we’ll share pics along the way as we get them. (No advance holds or adoptions are possible.)
