Scruffy dude Barney has had a rough time. He was found tied to a park bench in Modesto, and was brought to the transferring shelter by police. He was unclaimed during his stray hold there.
Barney has received a good grooming by our staff, having some mats snipped out and getting a much-needed bath.
In a word, Barney is a hoot. He’s a wonderful goofball and adores everyone he meets. Toys? FUN. Other dogs? FUN. Cats? Fun but not TOO fun — he’s been very appropriate with Bubba, our resident feline. We recommend sturdy kiddos as Barney is quite playful.
Barney is currently being treated for some cuts to his feet and face, which are healing nicely. His adopters will be sent home with the remainder of his antibiotics.
Barney weighs 30 pounds and is about three years old. He’s an all-American Heinz 57, in the very best way. (Translation: We don’t know what he is, but we do know he’s adorable.)
