Peppermint Patty

AVAILABLE SATURDAY 4/19.

Peppermint Patty came our way when one of our transfer partners took in 60+ dogs from one household in a hoarding case.

She will be available for adoption on Saturday, 4/19.

PEPPERMINT PATTY (cream/tan, female, 9 pounds, age ~2, could be a spaniel/chihuahua): Patty is sweet and friendly, and wants nothing more than to be in your lap. She has been just fine with new dogs and with our cat, Bubba, and was curious and gentle when meeting a kitten. One of our staffers says Patty is her favorite because she is such an ideal lap dog and quite cuddly.

It’s important to be aware that dogs from hoarding situations can come with a bit of emotional baggage. While none of the dogs from this case appears to have been physically abused or neglected, and all were of fairly good weight, living in one home with 60+ dogs and only a couple humans means that they didn’t have an opportunity to receive one-on-one attention. They are not housetrained and their adopters will need to start that process from scratch. They do not show any interest in toys. They have never walked on a leash and will need to be taught if you’re not planning to carry them on all outings (vet appointments, etc.).

That said, we believe these girls will make truly excellent pets and wonderful companions to their new people.
