We’re looking for an extraordinarily special someone for little Amber.
Amber is about 4-5 months old. She’s a border collie or border collie mix, and as cute as can be. Here’s the deal: Amber is scared. Amber is shy. Amber probably didn’t get much socialization as a very young puppy. We really don’t know what her early months were like, but we’re guessing they weren’t all that great.
In many cases, we would send a pup like Amber to a foster home to essentially learn to be a dog, discover that people are awesome, and take her first steps toward her new life as a beloved companion. But we’re hesitating with Amber. She’s SO sweet, and starting to come out of her shell with us at our center. We don’t want her getting nice and settled in a foster home only to be wrenched away again and start the process all over when it’s time to be adopted.
So we’re hoping to find an amazing person or family willing to take a chance on adopting a shy puppy. People who are patient, and kind, and gentle, but who know that once Amber feels safe, and knows she’s loved, she’s gonna be an energetic border collie puppy, with all the friskiness that comes with that. Side note: Amber loves other dogs and would adore having a sweet companion, though that’s not required.
