Clara

At just seven months old, beautiful brindle girl Clara already tips the scales at 62 pounds. She’s going to be a substantial adult (you should see her paws!), and she’s built like a tank.

Clara reminds us a bit of Bambi — in the earlier part of the movie before you shriek that you hate Walt Disney and vow to never see another animal movie again ever as all things holy are your witness.

What we mean by that is that everything is new and wondrous to Clara. We think it’s a safe bet she’d never been indoors before coming into our care, and she’s fascinated, and a bit intimidated, by normal things: our center’s washer and dryer, the mop, the toilet. She’s beginning to build her confidence though, and is starting to take these things in stride.

Clara loves her people. She takes comfort in them, and seeks out her favorites for cuddles. She’s incredibly low-key for a pup her age, and enjoys the company of the other dogs she’s met. She is noisy when she’s inside her suite if Bubba sashays by, but when meeting our ambassa-cat face to face, she was a marshmallow.

What breed(s) is Clara? We see some Boxer, and possibly some Cane Corso. Her tail is docked, but thankfully her velvet ears were left untouched.
