Keep The Microchip Info Current

May is National Chip Your Pet Month. A microchip can be your pet’s golden ticket home if s/he is ever lost (and trust us, accidents can and do happen even to wonderful people).

But the microchip is only valuable if you keep your personal info current with the microchip registry. There’s nothing sadder than a found pet with an unregistered chip, or one whose chip has an outdated phone number and address.

Be sure to update the microchip registry anytime you move and/or get a new phone number. Don’t know who your pet’s chip was issued by? Just use the universal registry at foundanimals.org. It’s the first one most shelters and veterinarians will check. ❤🐾
