Male skunks will travel up to five miles (their territory is normally restricted to about two) lookin’ for love, so they’re passing through backyards and wandering properties throughout the county. Keep an eye on your dogs, everyone, particularly at night.
The increase in “skunk stink” you might be noticing is because the female will reject a potential suitor she doesn’t find up to her standards by spraying him.
For the record, cats are usually smart enough to keep their distance. ❤️🐾
