More of our Formula Drive goodies in action! Current foster kitten Penny looooooves her “heartbeat kitty” surrogate mama. ❤🐾
Many thanks and four paws up to the Calaveras County Women’s Network for their generous donation to the Calaveras Humane Society!
We’re always touched when another community group makes the effort to acknowledge our work. “We know that your organization goes above and beyond the call of duty,” they wrote in their letter. “You represent all that is good, wholesome, ethical, and moral in an organization.”
Thank you, Calaveras County Women’s Network! You made our day. ❤🐾
Once again, we’re just bowled over by the generosity of our community. This year’s Itty Bitty Kitty Formula Drive was our best ever, resulting in enough formula, Miracle Nipples, Heartbeat Kitties, microwave warming discs, digital scales, and more to get us through at least the first half of kitten season — and probably beyond!
Four paws up and a HUGE thank you to Century 21 Sierra Properties Cal Bre#02130377!
They purchased a truly massive order of both dog and cat food for our Pet Food Bank through our friends at Spence Ranch Feed & Supply, which the good folks from Spence delivered to us today. (That’s Diana Spence’s pupper, Clyde, adopted from us last year, with our staffer Makenna.)
You rock, Century 21 Sierra Properties! Thank you so much for caring for our community this way. ❤🐾
Three cheers for Gail Davis of Arnold, who regularly crochets blankets for our kitties and small dogs. (She’s pictured here with only a small fraction of this delivery on Friday — there were literally dozens!)
Each cat and kitten in our care has a blankie that goes home with them when they’re adopted, so they’ll have something familiar and comforting in a new environment. Hardworking folks like Gail keep us well-supplied, and we appreciate it very much! ❤🐾
We sure appreciate businesses who support our work! Many thanks to the good folks at Tractor Supply Co. in Jackson for sending over this wonderful haul of goodies for our Pet Food Bank today. Our ambassadog Finnegan definitely approves! ❤🐾
Four paws up to Snowshoe Brewing Company! The good folks there have been holding a pet food drive on our behalf, and employee Zach (pictured) made a delivery Wednesday with some of the accumulated goodies.
Snowshoe has given customers everything from discounted food prices to 25% off Growler refills in exchange for a pet food donation, so be sure to check with them about their current offers — they’re continuing to collect food for us for at least a while yet. ❤🐾
We are overwhelmed, in the BEST possible way! We asked for dog food donations recently for our Pet Food Bank, and boy oh boy, did you guys come through.
We received MORE THAN TWO TONS of dog food within two weeks, enough for us to keep the dogs of Calaveras households in need fed and happy for the next few months. We’re currently using one of our empty dog suites for overflow food storage!
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who donated. We’re so proud that this program has been 100% donor-supported since its start almost two years ago, and it’s all because of our compassionate community. #calaverasstrong
Many thanks to Susan Olsen of Partners for Paws. ALL the proceeds from sales of her line of SuSu Design jewelry and wine bags, available now at Val du Vino Winery in Murphys, will go directly to your Calaveras Humane Society!
We appreciate your generosity, Susan. On behalf of the animals, we thank you!
In February of this year, we began a new partnership with Team French at Cedar Creek Realty (Shelby French Sells Cedar Creek Realty DRE #02100494). Every time Team French (mom Shelby and daughter Sarah) sells a home, they will sponsor the adoption fee of an animal here at the Calaveras Humane Society!
This dynamic duo wanted to give back to the community they love, and we’re so pleased they chose our organization to help!
We are honored to have received a $5 pet supplies gift card from Avery’s Pawsitive Change. Fourteen-year-old Pennsylvania resident Avery donates gift cards to animal shelters all over the country, and raises the money herself via her GoFundMe page.
Avery has done this for almost a year, all while battling Ewing sarcoma.
“I am hoping this gift card will help a little,” Avery said in her letter to us. “There are so many animals in this world that need help and to be cared for…You have a hard job every day and most times it’s overlooked by many people. I hope this brightens your day to know that someone is thinking of you.”
You certainly did brighten our day, Avery, AND you inspired us! Thank you so much for choosing us to receive a gift card. We wish you all the best with your project and with your recovery. ❤🐾
What a fabulous way to start the year!
We are delighted to announce that the Calaveras Humane Society has been awarded a $35,000 grant from the ASPCA as part of its national ASPCA Relief and Recovery Initiative, which provides critical funding for animal welfare organizations whose programs, operations, or fundraising capabilities have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.
This grant will help us continue to provide our essential lifesaving services, including our adoption and foster programs, pet food bank, senior veterinary assistance program, and so much more, all of which have proven to be crucial to our community during the pandemic.
Thank you, ASPCA, for this incredible opportunity! ❤🐾
