It’s HOT out there! Help your dog(s) beat the heat with homemade pup-sicles.
Recipes abound online, from super-easy (just our style!) to ones so complex we took one look and went, “Um, nope.”
Pictured here are the results of one of the super-easy recipes, which contains only two ingredients: pureed seedless watermelon and nonfat, unsweetened yogurt, frozen together.
Fill ice cube trays one-third with yogurt. Use an immersion blender, food processor, or even skip the pureeing and just smush the watermelon with a potato masher. Add fruit puree to the ice cube trays, and freeze.
You can use almost any pet-friendly fruit or fruit mixture for this (bananas, blueberries, strawberries, cantaloupe, etc.). Adorable bone-shaped silicone ice cube trays are available, but a standard one works just as well.
Safety note: Be sure to NOT use artificially sweetened yogurt. Fake sweeteners can be toxic to dogs.
Stay cool, everyone! ❤🐾
