One in three animals we take in has some sort of medical issue that must be addressed.
These can range from simple, age-related things (bad teeth in dire need of a veterinary dental cleaning, for example) to serious problems that must be dealt with immediately (fractured limbs, seizures, and much, much more).
We don’t have a veterinary clinic on our premises, and we see the same veterinarians that the rest of our community use. The bottom line, of which we’re sure you’re aware: Vet care is expensive.
Your gift to the Calaveras Humane Society this Giving Tuesday will enable us to say YES to even more pets in need. Our partner shelters and rescues contact us when they have a highly adoptable dog or cat who needs a little something extra, like a life-changing surgery, to be ready to begin their new lives.
We have been able to help so many incredible pets to step into the future both happy and healthy, thanks to the kindness of donations like yours. This Giving Tuesday, will you help more pets like Mulligan and Tux, both pictured below?
The Calaveras Humane Society (CHS) is a 501(c)(3) organization (Tax ID # 94-2581703). All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
What else does our organization do? We are here to help our community.

- Our Pet Food Bank helps residents in need to feed and keep their beloved pets.
- Our Free Pets for Veterans and Seniors For Seniors programs place loving pets with good families at little to no cost to adoptees.
- The first-rate medical care we get for the pets in our center ensures they are happy and healthy when they are adopted.
