Today marks the six-month anniversary of the opening of our Angels Camp shelter. 🎉
We’re so proud to have opened our nonprofit animal shelter and adoption center, the first of its kind in Calaveras County, on June 19. In only six months, we nearly exceeded the number of animal intakes and adoptions we’d expected to do in an entire year!
We typically house five to seven dogs at any given time, which makes the 92 dog and puppy adoptions we did even more impressive. The average length of stay for a dog in our care is a mere 4.1 days.
We take transfers from nearby municipal shelters, and accepted 61 canines and felines this year from Calaveras County Animal Services. (The remaining transfers were from our shelter partners in Stockton, Tuolumne, and Lodi.)
We’re delighted to share these numbers with you, and want to thank you for your ongoing support. We couldn’t do what we do without having our community so solidly behind us. Here’s to even bigger numbers in 2020! ♥️🐾
