Violet and her puppies were rescued living underneath a shed at a crime scene by the officers of Tuolumne County Animal Control. Her puppies were eight weeks old and ready for adoption. Tuolumne happened to have some orphaned week-old pups that Violet was happy to be a surrogate mom to, and we placed her in one of our volunteer foster homes to raise them.
The puppies are now eating on their own, and Violet is extremely pleased and relieved to be permanently retiring from motherhood. She is now seeking a home of her very own where she can be cherished.
We can’t say enough wonderful things about Violet. She’s about three years old and is sweet as sugar. She adores everyone she meets and has a soft, gentle personality. She gets along just fine with other dogs and hasn’t had any negative reactions to seeing cats in our adoption center. She’d be right at home in a variety of environments.
